Working on this blog I was looking for a static generator to get myself going generating blog posts easy. I started reading info about Hugo and quickly noticed that creating templates would need some knowledge about the go language.
So this free go ebook seemed to be a perfect introduction to the language. The book is a good primer introducing you to the very basics of the language. I did read it without access to a computer and found some of the later examples a bit too daunting to fully understand without testing it out. I would definitely recommend reading this book on your PC and typing out the examples to understand it. The book is not enough to become a go programmer, it does introduce you to some thinking paradigms on how to get started.
That being said it introduced me to the very basics and got me enough to edit some of my hugo themes. It also got me a bit curious to learn the go language a bit more so I got me another go book to learn soon Get programming with go
