Horus Rising Cover

A gritty dark science fiction story that would bring me back to the time I played 40k.

The book starts really well introducing some of the key characters. It does not linger too much on introductions however and directly throws you into an exhilarating battle story.

It becomes an apparent fact that a story will unfold told by an experienced writer. Reading the battle stories and the gore that unfolds immediately wanted me to return to playing Warhammer 40k and pick up some paintbrush to start either a space marine army or reneged imperial guard. The character development and “quite” chapters in the book are a good pacing between the dateline rushed battle scenes, I do feel however that this, however, is a very introduction any book to a bigger story.

It does satisfy me on its own, but I did miss some of the “seeds of chaos” to be sown. It does touch the subject a bit but only in the very beginning an end. It does, however, do a good job to read a future book, I am glad I got a bundle of the first book and will certainly take op the next installment.
